its been a while since my last entry, there are many reasons for this, chief amongst them at present my health. Not only has my usual problems given me the usual miserable time but I've had problems with medication, very bad news and an accident with a knife.
i have also had to spend time with my other hobby keeping tropical fish. I had a great weekend catching up with friends at the London film and comic con but whilst there received the devastating news that a close friends Cancer had returned. In the same breath as him telling me, he said he wanted me to have his big 400 litre aquarium and could I shift it ASAP so it was one less worry. Due to the sheer size of the tank 5ft long by 2 and a half feet deep and wide it needed a total rearrange in my house for it to fit and the move of furniture between rooms not to mention a another large aquarium to move as well.
with that in mind the ex wife came round and in a blinding flurry of arms, dusters, mop and bleach had the house ready for the aquarium and Spring cleaned downstairs as well in one afternoon. A good job really as I was having trouble walking my stamina was pitiful, the pain really debilitating. I owe the success of the move all down to her really and even when the tank was in I was given strict instructions not to mess with it until I was better.
She knows me to well though and as I could smell the unwashed filter I decided to dismantle it and give it a clean. In hindsight I should have put it in a bucket of water on the patio until I was in better shape to concentrate on the task. however, in true Phil fashion off I went and I didn't realise I had knocked a steak knife into the sink with my filter components. Hey presto when my hands go in to clean the sponge filters I am badly cut on my left index finger in a thick soup of fish poo and bacteria.
To cut a long story short I now have no feeling in the tip of my left index finger and it still throbs like a bugger, the nurse who checked it out giving me a plaster and that was it. Once again the cleaning and binding of the wound fell to the ex wife....... I must admit it was a nice deep cut you could see the giblets and insides clearly but now I've another thing for my Doctor💉
heres a few pictures of the aquariums as they stand now the really big one my new addition.
